Changed setting for visitor services at Dorrigo National Park

After 35 years welcoming over 5 million visitors to Dorrigo National Park, our beloved Dorrigo Rainforest Centre is preparing to close its doors for the final time. The visitor centre will close on Sunday 9 August 2026, to make way for the exciting redevelopment of the visitor centre and Skywalk, slated to open in 2028.

Dorrigo National Park will remain open during the redevelopment, with our friendly information centre staff welcoming visitors at Maam ganiyaygamba, “our meeting place”, from Friday 21 August at The Glade picnic area, 100 Lyrebird Lane Dorrigo, just 1km up the road.

In addition to the temporary visitor centre building, The Glade has had a spruce up including a new car park with room for coaches, a disabled access path, and refreshed picnic shelter, BBQs and tables. Come on out, say hello, and enjoy the Walk with the Birds boardwalk or a wander through World Heritage Gondwana rainforests to Crystal Shower Falls.

Note that there will be no visitor services, information or retail staff available during the transition period from 10 to 20 August 2026. The Skywalk will remain open until later in 2026 with access around the southern end of the closed building.
